We always think its worth taking a retrospective look back at the beginning of each new year over the past 12 months at the mix of music and entertainment bookings we have undertaken and the venues we have provided in.
Its been a great year and a really diverse mix of work in our corporate entertainment , private entertainment and cruise entertainment divisions. The beginning of 2011 certainly had a Royal emphasis with many promotional and themed events reflecting the impending Royal Wedding and our Prince William and Kate Middelton lookalikes were kept really busy. We were delighted to be involved in the naming ceremonies of two Cruise Ships with The Overtones, one of the hottest UK acts of the year, participating on the P& O 'Adonia' and The Siren String Quartet performing in Barcelona on the Yachts of Seabourn 'Quest'.
We have represented the fabulous Funky Divas for some time and highlights of 2011 were appearances with comedian Dara 'O Briain at Gleneagles, with Frankie Boyle at a private event in Hampshire and at The Jewish Childs Day Charity event at The Chancery Court Hotel London. The Funky Divas singers also perform with our most booked party band Sway and we were delighted to arrange for them to perform at an exclusive wedding celebration in the Esma Sultan Palace in Istanbul. A beautiful venue and a great event..
We are increasingly providing entertainment to major conferences in London and 2011 was no exception with the electric cellist Lizzy May, urban dance group Diversity, The Ultimate Beatles and The Al Nicholls and Richard Exall Jazz bands performing at venues such as Old Billingsgate, The Excel Centre and Middle Temple.
We also continue to book entertainers for promotional and experiential marketing events and trade shows. Award winning magicians Spencer Wood and Bruce Munton were kept busy at Olympia while we had yet more lookalikes involved in the launch of the Yahoo OMG brand both internally and to the press while some of out jugglers were installed in the retail outlets at The British Museum. September saw the launch of the Range Rover Evoque and we were delighted to provide electric string music by the fabulous Asteria Quartet and the Storm duo. Storm also performed at the British Lingerie Awards and the Jewellery Hot 100 event. Other awards events were held at Grosvenor House and at Ealing Town Hall with entertainment including a quick change act, a Scottish pipe band, Paparazzi and a dance troupe
There were very many other private and corporate events during the year ranging from company parties, bar mitvas, bat mitzvah , weddings and birthdays in a variety of venues from The Celtic Manor and The Chewton Glen Hotel to The Ivy, Kensington Palace and Searcys Club at the Gherkin where we provided an array of music and entertainment from Fun Casinos to Party Bands, Cabaret Artists, Singers, Singing Waiters, Opera acts, Cirque style performers, magicians, fortune tellers, origami artists and dancers of several different styles including the captivating Argentinean tango of Romina and Leandro
Our cruise division which books headline entertainers for several leading UK and US cruise lines was very busy under the management of Sarah MacDonnell and we are delighted that we began to book some artists new to our roster during the year.!
2011 was a great year and we are looking forward to more of the same in 2012 with a good number of bookings already in place and a strong stream of enquiries. As always we are grateful to the clients who continue to trust us with the provision of entertainment at their events and to our loyal, talented and highly professional musicians and artists who never fail to deliver on the day.

We CAN take rejection !!
Availability is King! At Prima Artists we receive hundreds of enquiries each week for potential bookings, some way in the future and some at pretty short notice. We always check availability with artists for the date in question before responding to these enquiries. What is the point of stating an artists fee and later to find out they are not available? Like pricing a seat on an air flight and then to find there are no seats left on booking! Off goes the resultant quote to our client - Yes they are available and the cost is £xxx and the conditions are yyy.
Pretty good so far.
Where if falls down is that often we never hear from the enquirer again. The artist has pencilled the date in his diary, we have set an admin chain in process. We follow up by email. Did you receive the information? Was It of interest? And still nothing! No reply.
The artist has an alternative enquiry for the same date. They call us. Is this booking going ahead. ?? Answer - we don't know. We try again and from the resulting wall of silence we make the assumption our artist is not wanted or our proposal has not been accepted.
In the entertainment industry we are used to rejection - Its all right to say "Thanks but no thanks". We understand it may not be what you thought, the requirements have changed, its over budget, the event is not going ahead. That's fine. Please just tell us - we can take it!!
Better than that is a "definite maybe" or make our day by saying "Yes please".!!

Introduction
Well, here we go!
In the fifteen or so years we have been running Prima Artists which is an entertainment agency booking entertainers and musicians for a whole host of events across UK in Europe and worldwide, people have increasingly sought our advice on all matters related to live entertainment so I guess that make me an expert or a guru! Neither of those titles sit easily with me - I guess its innate modesty! I would be happy to accept the title of Entertainment Consultant.
We believe that we only achieve excellence by doing what we know about in depth so there are certain areas that we don't cover. However with 15 years in business and working with corporate clients and private clients at every level we have learned a lot about what works and what doesn't and how to deliver quality entertainment solutions for any event and how to deliver value for money without compromising quality.
